SAMBA, Apr 30: Helping Hands Jammu, in collaboration with Lakshya De-addiction Centre and the Municipal Council Samba, organised a drug awareness campaign at Government Higher Secondary School, Samba.
The primary objective of the event was to educate students about the dangers of drug abuse and to encourage a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The campaign was honoured by the presence of the Jodh Raj, Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council Samba as the chief guest. In his address to the students, he stated, “Drug addiction is like a swamp – once a person falls into it, it becomes increasingly difficult to escape. It destroys lives, families and futures. It is our collective responsibility to safeguard our youth and steer them towards a brighter and healthier future.”
The expert team from Lakshya De-addiction Centre made a significant impact by highlighting the psychological, physical and social consequences of substance abuse. The team members included Dr Ajay Kumar, Psychiatrist Snidhi Parihar, Manager Yamin Mushtaq, counselor Mokshi Raina, counselor Dheeraj Manhas, GNM Sourav Sharma, Founder of Helping Hands Jammu, conveyed a heartfelt message: “Our youth represent the future of the nation. It is our joint duty to ensure they remain free from the grip of drugs. Creating awareness and offering guidance is a step towards lasting change.”
Volunteers from Helping Hands Jammu, including Rakshit, Surjeet, Divyansh, Aman Gupta, Ananya Verma, Kusum, Harsh, Riya and several others, played a vital role in the smooth execution of the event and contributed greatly to its success.
This awareness initiative is yet another milestone in Helping Hands Jammu’s continued efforts to promote a healthier and more informed society, free from the menace of drug abuse.
