JAMMU, Sept 7: Sikh United Front (J&K) has said that the recent nature’s fury, which resulted in the cloudburst and floods causing loss to life, property, as it appeared if the Almighty had closed his eyes towards mankind.
Addressing a press conference here today, SUF Chairman Sudershan Singh Wazir, flanked by the members of other Sikh bodies said that as desired by Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch, it has been decided that keeping in view the devastation in J&K, Punjab and other places, an appeal should be issued to the people in general and Sikhs community in particular on behalf of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji that everyone should come forward in this hour of crisis and help those who need to be taken care of.
Wazir claimed that Mahant Manit Singh has issued an appeal to one and all, urging them to contribute monetarily or in any manner they deem fit to alleviate the people’s miserable plight in this hour of crisis. Click here to watch video
United Front leader further appealed to the people on behalf of Mahant Sahib to all the Gurudwaras, their managements, the District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committees of Union Territory of J&K to atleast contribute one month Golak of the Gurudwara for this cause and help people not only in J&K but also send money to Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Amritsar.

He requested the people to come forward generously and either send the money directly to SGPC or deposit whatever they want to donate at Digiana Ashram, Jammu, and take a proper receipt. Mahant Manjit Singh has made a special mention about the noble custom of Langar initiated by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
