NEW DELHI, Apr 15: With an aim to implement skill development programmes through training and assessment, Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) today said it has signed an agreement with National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). The memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) and National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) to implement skill development certification on HSSC developed Qualification Pack- National Occupational Standards (QP-NOS),the company said. “In the backdrop of transformations taking place in the health sector, India is firmly poised to be human resource hub for healthcare professionals across the world. To tap this emerging opportunity, it is critical to build a highly skilled and professionally competent set of professionals. The HSSC-NABH initiative is step in this direction,” said Dr Naresh Trehan, Chairman, Healthcare Sector Skill Council. NABH and HSSC will work towards creating a dedicated and professionally competent set of health professionals. According to the agreement, all applicant healthcare organizations would be advised to have HSSC certified allied health professionals for NABH accreditation and all NABH accredited HCOs to get existing allied health professionals HSSC certified in defined time period. The agreement entails HSSC certification to be included in the chapter for Human Resource Management in NABH Standard / Guidebook that would be applicable to all NABH accredited and applicant HCOs paving the way for uniformity and standardization in health job roles in the country.
Both the companies would also work towards capacity building and conduct train-the-trainers programs jointly across the country. Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and in close collaboration with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is working towards creating an ecosystem for quality vocational education and skill development in healthcare,the company added further. NABH accreditation programs are available for hospitals, small healthcare organizations, allopathic clinics and Ayush hospitals. (UNI)
