JAMMU, Nov 2: Department of Commerce, University of Jammu (JU), in collaboration with Care and Cure (CNC) Nursing Home, Jammu, organized a free medical health check-up camp for the elderly residents of The Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Ambphalla, Jammu.
The medical team was led by Dr Adeeb Singh (Urologist), who conducted urological consultations and guided the elderly on urinary and renal health issues commonly faced in old age. Dr Sukanya Gupta (Plastic Surgeon) provided general surgical consultations and carried out examinations related to post-operative care, wound management, and preventive health screening.
They were accompanied by Dharminder Singh (CORONA Remedies), who extended generous support by providing free medicines and healthcare products to the inmates. Gurleen Kour (member) and Pankaj Jamwal (member) actively participated in organizing and assisting the medical sessions, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the camp.
The visit was graced by the presence of Prof (Dr) Jeevan Jyoti, Head, Department of Commerce (JU) and Prof (Dr) Tarsem Lal, co-ordinator, outreach and extension programme, Department of Commerce (JU), who encouraged the youth to take inspiration from such socially relevant initiatives.
A team of scholars from the Department of Commerce, including Dheeraj, Deepak, Ankit and Vinay also accompanied the professors. They assisted the medical staff during consultations.
The camp was conducted under the guidance of Dr Dinesh Gupta, honorary secretary, Home for the Aged & Infirm, along with Satpal Sharma and R C Vaid, managing committee members, Dr Rajinder Thappa and Rajinder Singh, life members.
