JAMMU, Jan 23: In a petition filed by Makhan Lal Bhan and other migrants from Kashmir valley challenging the direction of respondents vis-à-vis discontinuing the relief in the shape of cash and ration, Vacation Judge of State High Court Justice Hasnain Massodi has issued notice to Chief Secretary, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) and Chief Accounts Officer Relief Organization (M) returnable within two weeks.
According to the petitioners, the right of relief has been declined in their favour vide a circular dated August 22, 2012 after they were provided employment under the Prime Minister’s scheme and adjusted in the Kashmir valley.
After hearing Advocate K L Pandita appearing for the petitioners, Justice Hasnain Massodi issued notice and ordered that respondents shall not discontinue the payment of relief to the petitioners till next date of hearing.
