JAMMU, Jan 12: High Court has stayed the investigation in the FIR registered by State Vigilance Organization in the alleged Sainik Colony land scam.
The stay was granted in a petition filed by Kuldeep Singh seeking quashment of FIR No.39/2015 registered by Vigilance Organization on the prima facie establishment of offences on the part Balwant Singh, the then Naib Tehsildar Bahu (now retired), Baldev Raj, the then Girdawar Sunjwan (now retired), the then Patwari Sunjwan, Vijay Kumar, Amar Singh of Gurha Slathian, Naveen Chander of Dhakki Sarajan, Pritam Singh of Prithvipur, Rattan Parkash of Purani Mandi and Kuldeep Singh of Toph Sherkhania.
After hearing Advocate GS Thakur appearing for the petitioner, Vacation Judge of the High Court, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal issued notice to the respondents and directed them to file objection. In the meanwhile the High Court ordered that till filing objections, the investigation in FIR No 39/2015 to the extent of petitioner Kuldeep Singh shall remain stayed.
