SRINAGAR, Nov 15: High Court today granted week’s time to Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) to comply with providing of shops to dislocated shopkeepers at the resort.
The division bench of Justice Sindhu Sharma and Justice Javed Iqbal granted week’s time to GDA after its counsel submitted before the court for some time to comply with the court directions.
The CEO GDA Raja Yaqoob Farooq was present in person before the court as was under directions.
“Time as prayed is granted. Compliance affidavit in this regard be filed before the next date of hearing. The Chief Executive Officer shall remain present in person before this Court on the next date of hearing”, DB directed.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Gulmarg Development Authority on previous hearing was specifically directed to remain present in person before this court and file an affidavit within seven days from the passing of earlier direction.
The CEO on last hearing had informed the court about the availability of shops in Gulmarg tourist resort and the court on this statement made by the CEO directed him to allot the same to the dislocated shopkeepers with the filing compliance before the court.
The shops of aggrieved persons were dislocated by the GDA for beautification of resort way back in 1999 and some of them were rehabilitated leaving the aggrieved shopkeepers behind which compelled them to approach the portals of the court to seek the rehabilitation on the analogy as has been done with the case of other dislocated shopkeepers.
