JAMMU, Sept 20: In a petition highlighting encroachment of 10 kanals forest land by Abdul Ghani Kohli, ex-Minister for Animal and Sheep Husbandry at Nowabad Sunjwan, Division Bench of the State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjay Kumar Gupta today impleaded Forest Department through its Commissioner Secretary as respondent and issued notice for filing response within a period of two weeks.
Advocate Ankur Sharma appeared for the PIL while as Senior AAG H A Siddiqui appeared on behalf of the State.
It is worthwhile to mention here that earlier Division Bench had directed respondents to provide the map of the area in question clearly showing Khasra Nos.356 and 264. “The counsel appearing for the Forest Department shall also place on record any notification with regard to the Bahu Range Forest indicating the extent of the forest”, the DB had further directed.
