HC announces Darbar Move

SRINAGAR, Oct 31: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has announced the annual Darbar Move for the winter season 2025-26, shifting its main offices from Srinagar to Jammu.
As per an order issued by Registrar General (Officiating) MK Sharma, the main wing of the High Court – including the offices of the Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice, Registrar Vigilance, Director J&K Judicial Academy, Registrar Rules, Registrar Computer (IT) and Central Project Coordinator (e-Courts) – will close at Srinagar on October 31 after office hours and reopen at Jammu on November 3.
The order further provides that a Special Move Travel Allowance of Rs 25,000 per employee will be paid to all staff members participating in the move, while those not moving will not be entitled to the allowance.
Officials have been directed to ensure that court offices, chambers, and communication systems are functional before reopening.
The Registrar Judicial, Jammu, along with the Estates Department, will oversee the necessary arrangements.
Meanwhile, the High Court has ordered temporary judicial postings following the retirement of two senior officers.
Arun Kumar Kotwal, District Judge, LRP Jammu, has been assigned the charge of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Reasi, on a stop-gap basis after the retirement of Suresh Chander Katal.
Similarly, with the retirement of Surinder Singh, Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Srinagar, the Additional Sessions Judge, Anti-Corruption, Srinagar, has been given additional charge of that court until further orders.
