Hardcore drug peddler arrested with 12-gm heroin in Bishnah

JAMMU, Sept 18: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Bishnah area have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 12 grams of heroin from his possession.
A police official said acting on specific inputs, a team from Police Station Bishnah conducted a raid at Sikanderpur Kothey on September 13, and apprehended the accused identified as Baraf Hussain alias Barfu of Rajpura Mandi, Gajansoo at present Sikanderpur Kothey, Bishnah.
During questioning, he said, the accused disclosed about the concealment of the contraband at his residence.
Acting on the disclosure, he said, the police team recovered 12 grams of heroin from his residence today.
The police official said the preliminary investigation revealed that the accused is a habitual offender already involved in two cases registered at Police Station Bishnah.
He said the recent case is being further investigated to trace the forward and backward links of the smuggling network.
Pertinently, the entire operation was carried out under the command of SHO Bishnah, Rakesh Singh Jamwal, supervised by SDPO RS Pura and overall supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu.
