JAMMU, Apr 2: Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed to have arrested a hardcore criminal in the R S Pura area and recovered a sharp weapon from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Davinder Kumar alias Rahul, a resident of Chak Mohammad Yar in RS Pura, Jammu.
Officials said he tried to flee after noticing a police team but was swiftly overpowered on the spot, averting any threat to the public safety.
During his personal search, a sharp weapon was recovered, they said.
Accordingly, he was booked in case FIR number 64/2026 under sections 4/25 of the Arms Act registered at Police Station RS Pura.
Officials said the accused is a history-sheeter with 13 FIRs already registered against him in different police stations of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
According to them, further investigation into the matter has been set into motion.
