JAMMU, May 19: A hardcore criminal was booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in Bishnah and subsequently lodged in District Jail Udhampur.
Vishal Sharma alias Shooter of Khojipur, Bishnah was booked under PSA after obtaining formal detention orders from the District Magistrate, Jammu, a police official said.
According to him, the accused was wanted in multiple FIRs registered against him in Jammu, Kathua, and Samba Districts.
“He (accused) had so far remained successful in securing the bails from the courts multiple times. In order to stop him from indulging further in criminal activities, a dossier under the stringent PSA was recommended against him.
“After getting satisfied with the dossier, the District Magistrate Jammu, issued a PSA warrant against the criminal,” he said.
The warrant was executed today with the arrest and booking of the criminal under the PSA and subsequently lodging him in District Jail Udhampur, added the police official.
Pertinently, the arrest was made by a team of Police Station Bishnah headed by SHO concerned under the close supervision of SDPO RS Pura, SP Headquarters, and SSP Jammu.
