SAMBA, June 17: A hardcore criminal was booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in Samba district today and lodged in District Jail Poonch.
Ayoub Ahmed of Basohli, district Kathua, at present Teli Basti, Bari Brahamana, was booked under PSA after obtaining the formal detention order from District Magistrate Samba, a police official said.
According to him, the accused was involved in 16 cases registered at different police stations of Kathua, Samba, and Jammu districts.
“His activities were posing a serious threat to the public peace and tranquillity in the district and adjoining areas. As such, he was booked under PSA and lodged in Poonch jail,” said the police official.
