JAMMU, Mar 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed they have booked a hardcore criminal under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in Chakrohi village of Suchetgarh tehsil in Jammu district.
Balwinder Kumar alias Pandey of Chakrohi, tehsil Suchetgarh, district Jammu has been booked under PSA for his continuous involvement in criminal activities in an organised manner, posing threat to public peace and order, a police official said.
According to him, the accused didn’t mend his behaviour inspite of being booked in multiple FIRs registered against him at various police stations of Jammu district.
Despite being arrested several times, the accused managed to get bail, thus posing serious threat to public order and tranquillity, particularly in RS Pura area, the police official said.
“Keeping in view the activities of the accused, he was ordered to be detained under the PSA by the District Magistrate Jammu,” he said.
Accordingly, the orders of the DM Jammu got executed with the arrest of the accused by a team of Police Station RS Pura today, he said.
