KARGIL, Oct 31: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq, today stressed the officers to gear up their men and machinery for completion of all pending developmental projects in the Kargil district, before the onset of winter season.
He said this while reviewing the physical and financial progress of RDD projects in the district in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chairman State Legislative Council Haji Ananyat Ali.
Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Kachoo Ahmad Ali Khan, Vice-Chairman Buildings & Other Constructions Workers Welfare Board and MLA Zanskar Aga Syed Bakir Rizvi, MLA Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai, Executive Councilor for Power Advocate Mohammad Amir, Executive Councilor for Rural Development Aga Syed Arman, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Haji Gular Hussain, Director Rural Development Gazanfar Ali, Mission Director SRLM GN Qasba and Additional SP Kargil, and other senior officers of the district administration attended the meeting.
On the occasion, the Minister also interacted with Village Level Workers (VLW) and Gram Rozgar Sevaks (GRS) and sought suggestions from them for better use of funds in rural areas.
He asked the officials of district administration that targets envisaged in annual plan should be realized so as to ensure maximum benefits to the people.
Stressing on the creation of durable assets under MGNREGA, the Minister said main aim of MGNREGA is to generate employment and creation of assets in villages and asked the officers to utilize the funds for improving road connectivity in villages, besides construction of bridges and on measures to reduce losses due to landslides and soil erosion.
On the occasion, the Minister announced additional grant of Rs 1.5 crore for Kargil to argument road connectivity in the district.
