JAMMU, Feb 2: A stall of handicrafts and handlooms organized by the Jammu women at 34th ‘Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2020’ in Haryana which was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind yesterday, has become star attraction of the people.
The stall has been installed by Nidhi Sharma, a Jammuite with the help of many women from far off areas of the region including Usha Devi from Chingnana village of Nagseni block in Kishtwar district, Salochna Devi from Bhatan village of Kishtwar, her 14-year old daughter Sonu Devi Thakur, Parvati Devi and Sonam Jamwal from Basohli in Kathua district.
The colourful ‘Surajkund International Crafts Mela’ is being visited by large number of people and the handloom and handicrafts items of Jammu have become star attraction.
Uzbekistan is the partner country in the Crafts Mela while Himachal Pradesh is the theme State. At least 20 countries and all States of India are participating in the Mela.
