POONCH, June 24: Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi a  prominent Gujjar leader and an intellectual of  the State has appealed the Governor, N N Vohra  to approach the Government of India with the recommendation of including Gojri language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India.
This would ensure the development and spread of Gojri language, Hakla said in a statement issued here, today.
He further said that the Gojri language is being spoken by a very large number population of Gujjars and Bakarwals of  State the number of which goes over thirty-four(34) lakhs which in no way could be ignored.
Hakla said  their only mother language is Gojri , therefore, keeping in view the demand of such a huge number of population of Gujjar and Bakarwals of the State, the inclusion of Gojri language in the 8th Schedule of Constitution of India, is most genuine and justified,he added.
