The largest gathering took place at Gurudwara Chatti Patshahi in Rainawari, Srinagar, where a significant number of Sikh community members, including men, women and children, paid obeisance.
“We observe this day as Prakash Parv. Guru Gobind Singh ji came into this world to eradicate cruelty and protect the oppressed,” a devotee said.
Similar gatherings were held with enthusiasm in other parts of the Valley, including Tral, Baramulla, Anantnag and Pulwama.
