JAMMU, Feb 4: The Management Committee of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha led by Prof C L Shivgotra, R C Bhasin and others have declared that the Shobha Yatra of Guru Ravi Das Ji Maharaj in connection with 648th Parkash Divas of great Guru will be taken out in Jammu on Feb 9.
Addressing a joint press conference here today, the Management Committee members of the Sabha claimed that as per the decision of the Committee members in the meetings held on Jan 30, 2025; Dec 5 & 29, 2024, the Shobha Yatra of Shri Guru Ravi Das Ji will be taken out from Krishna Nagar Temple and Sabha complex at 11 am on Feb 9. All the branch heads of the Sabha were also present during the meeting.
They declared that Shobha Yatra will commence from Krishna Nagar Sabha Bhawan and then after passing through Jewel Chowk, Below Gumat, Indira Chowk, Shalamar Chowk City Chowk, Raghunath Bazar, Vivekanand Chowk, Gujjar Nagar Bridge and then finally culminate at Bahu Fort, Guru Ravi Das Bhawan around 3 pm.
They further claimed that the General House of the All J&K Guru Ravi Das Sabha during its meeting ended about 9 years old dispute between the two groups by removing both from the respective positions and decided to hold fresh elections. An Adhoc body was also framed till the fresh elections are held.
The newly constituted adhoc body was given the responsibility to hold celebrations and take out Shobha Yatra by the biradari during General House meeting. Dy CM Surinder Choudhary has been requested to receive the Shobha Yatra at Bahu Fort on Feb 9.
The main function will be held on Feb 12 and Sri Sri 108 Swami Gureep Guri Ji from Pathankote will participate in the function and also deliver religious discourse. They said 51-member celebration Committee and a youth committee has been constituted for the smooth conduct of the functions. He said the members of the SC community in good number from all parts of Jammu region are expected to participate in this Shobha Yatra and main function.
Besides Prof Shivgotra and Er Basin, Prof C L Thappa, Er Joginder Paul, Dev Raj Angral, T C Bhavouria, Surjeet Heer, and others were also present on the occasion.
