Gurmat Samagam held to commemorate Shahidi Divas of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji

JAMMU, May 30: To mark the Shahidi Divas of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, a Mahan Gurmat Samagam was reverently held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji today.
Guru Arjan Dev Ji embraced martyrdom to uphold the values of humanity and safeguard the sanctity of the Sikh faith during the oppressive rule of Mughal Emperor Jehangir.
The Samagam was organized under the patronage of Sant Tejwant Singh Ji, Mukhi, Dera Sant Pura Danna, and coordinated by the local Gurdwara Management Committee, including Tejinder Singh (Kaku), Jagjeet Singh Jagga and Manjeet Singh Domana.
The day was observed with profound devotion, spiritual fervor and solemnity, drawing a large congregation of devotees from across Jammu and surrounding regions.
The spiritually uplifting event featured soul-stirring kirtan and inspirational discourses by renowned Parcharaks and Kirtan Jathas.
Among others who attended the Samagam included, Bhai Amandeep Singh and his Ragi Jatha from Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, Bhai Harpinder Singh, Parcharak In-charge (J&K), SGPC Amritsar, Bhai Amrik Singh, Dhadi Jatha, Pathankot, Bhai Jagir Singh, Hazuri Jatha, Sant Pura Danna, Nanak Nagar, Bibi Mandeep Kaur and Jatha from Mata Ganga Sewa Society and students of SGSD International School and Gurmat Vidyalaya, Marh Bagh.
On this special occasion, the family of Balwant Rai, who generously donated the land for the Gurdwara, along with Raju Jandial, were felicitated in recognition of their invaluable contributions.
Manjit Singh, Administrator, SGSD International School, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Sangat and especially acknowledged the participation and generous support of Joginder Singh Bali, Updesh Kaur Bali and their family from Hong Kong.
Special thanks were extended to the youth volunteers for their dedicated sewa in managing langar, Joda Ghar and Chhabeel, reflecting the true spirit of Sikh service and unity.
Sant Tejwant Singh also conveyed his deep appreciation to all devotees for their presence and support in making the Samagam spiritually enriching and memorable.
