He alleged that BJP has stooped low in its renewed politics of vendetta. He specially mentioned about their (BJP’s) cheap tactics in Gujarat and Bihar.
Dr Hussain told the senior leaders and workers that it is time to fight back attempts of BJP- RSS to weaken the democracy and constitution by all out efforts to threaten the opposition and it’s leadership.
“Congress fought against Britishers, it will not be cowed down by the vindictive actions of BJP and it is duty bound to safeguard the democracy, democratic institutions and democratic values in country, which are under threat under BJP regime,” Dr Naseer said.
He elaborated that the Congress stand on democracy, secularism and all issues of unity in diversity is clear. Any assault on Constitution would be opposed along with all like minded secular forces at every step like recent amendment on Waqf Act.
He said Rahul Gandhi has started giving challenge in Gujarat by holding AICC session at Ahmedabad on every front. The BJP wants to divert attention of the country from various failures.
He asked cadres to be strong and united to fight back at every step to safeguard democracy and democratic culture and values.
AICC leader told them in the senior leaders meet in the evening at Asia Hotel that he is always available to listen to the leadership of all class and Congress is democratic party and difference of opinion can be there on issues but indiscipline shall not be allowed. He said there is no place for the groupism in the party and any such attempt will not be tolerated. He claimed that party stand was clear on Waqf Bill and party leaders have mentioned the same in the House and outside as well.
Congress has to emerge a strong secular voice of people of all sections as Centre is ignoring the promised Statehood to J&K. He said the party will continue to fight for the restoration of Statehood to the Jammu and Kashmir.
He asked the party cadre to strengthen the party at district and block levels and maintained that for the sake of making the party more stronger some people should not hesitate to sacrifice.
