Sir,
Kindly refer to the news report “5000 PM’s Scholarship this year” published in this paper on 17th June. In this context, I am to say that it is a welcome step that the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has started on-line registration for grant of Prime Minister’s Scheme (PMSSS) for the year 2015-16 to the students of J&K State.
In the meantime, I would like to draw the kind attention of the MHRD Ministry, AICTE All India Council for Technical Education Govt. of India, New Delhi and J&K State Education Minister that the students enrolled during the year 2014-15 under the (PMSSS) admitted through proper counselling by the Competent Authority have not received the said scholarship till date reportedly and as a consequence of it the students and the parents are facing lot of hardships and inconvenience.
It is worthwhile to mention it here that my selection to the B Tech Civil Engg. Degree course has been made through proper counselling but not by any NGO vide Admission Authority Letter No. F.No. J&KSSS/2014-15/Couns/46926 dated 2-9-2014 bearing my CAN ID No. 46926; Overall Merit No. 2658 Course No. E-02613-5 Civil Engg. and Institution ID No E-02613 duly issued by Director, J&K Cell, New Delhi and nominee of the J&K Govt. Admission Authority, Principal,SP College Srinagar and copy of the admission letter forwarded to by the Councelling Authority to Director, MHRD, New Delhi and Director, AICTE New Delhi for information and necessary action dated 2-9-2014.
It is also welcome step that the Ministry Human Resource Development (MHRD) has very rightly cautioned the students that the NGOs have no role in (PMSSS) and the students should not approach any NGO for admission under the said scholarship scheme because during previous years most of the students have been allegedly/reportedly cheated by some NGOs.
Therefore, keeping the above mentioned submission and facts in view, it is requested to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), New Delhi, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and J&K State Education Minister to take immediate measures to grant PM’s Special Scholarship to the students enrolled during 2014-15 and the students enrolled prior to 2014-15 as well for various Degree courses under PM’s Scholarship scheme, so that they may not face any hardships, inconvenience as it is a question of career of the J&K students. Hope the authorities will take the step soon.
