JAMMU, Dec 6: On the occasion of Mahaparinirvan Diwas, observed in remembrance of Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar, tribute were paid by various organizations here today.
Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, president Dr Farooq Abdullah paid homage to the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a pioneering advocate of social justice, equality and democratic rights.
In his tribute, Dr Farooq said, “Dr B R Ambedkar’s contributions to the nation remain foundational. His work in shaping the Constitution established a framework that upholds justice, equality and the dignity of every citizen. His life continues to inspire generations to strengthen democratic values and promote harmony in society.”
“Dr. Ambedkar dedicated his life to ensure that vulnerable and marginalized communities received the rights and protections they deserved. On his death anniversary, it is important to reflect on his vision for an equitable and progressive India,” he added.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s State SC Morcha paid a solemn and heartfelt tribute to the inimitable Dr Ambedkar.
In a solemn declaration, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and president, Bharatiya Janata Party Jammu and Kashmir Sat Sharma said, “Today, we pay tribute to the architect of our Constitution, Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas. His tireless crusade for social justice, equality and human rights continues to inspire us. His legacy reminds us of the importance of compassion, empathy and inclusivity. Let us strive to build a society that reflects his values of justice, equality and fraternity. Jai Bhim!”
MLA Dr Devinder Manyal extolled the virtues of the visionary leader, stating, “It was the indefatigable efforts of Baba Saheb that gifted our nation a Constitution that is at once progressive, inclusive and visionary – a testament to his unwavering commitment to the ideals of justice, equality and fraternity.”
MLA Professor Gharu Ram Bhagat emphasized that the sagacious thoughts and ideals of this towering personality will continue to serve as a beacon of inspiration for generations to come, illuminating the path towards a more just, equitable and harmonious society.
In the last, BJP SC Morcha state president Dharminder Kumar said, “Let us recommit ourselves to his ideals of justice, equality and fraternity, and strive to create a society that is inclusive, compassionate and just for all”.
A heartfelt ceremony was held in Bishnah to pay tribute to Dr Ambedkar. The event saw a massive gathering of citizens and key political leaders, with Dr Rajeev Bhagat MLA Bishnah leading the proceedings.
Dr Bhagat, in his address to the gathering, lauded Dr Ambedkar’s monumental contribution to the nation, especially his tireless efforts for social justice, equality and the upliftment of the underprivileged.
Other speakers highlighted Dr Ambedkar’s visionary leadership and his critical role in shaping the modern, democratic framework of India.
The ceremony concluded with a pledge by attendees to reinforce their commitment to Dr Ambedkar’s mission of creating an egalitarian and just society.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) organized grand tribute functions across all Zone Headquarters of the UT, including Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Udhampur and other regions.
The central program was held at Akhnoor, where Nitin Singh, Central Coordinator, attended as the chief guest, and the state president of BSP J&K graced the event as the guest of honour. A massive gathering from across the UT offered heartfelt floral tribute to Babasaheb.
The All Jammu Based Reserved Category Employees Association Kashmir (AJBRCEAK) paid heartfelt tribute to Dr Ambedkar.
Speaking at the commemoration, AJBRCEAK Chairman, Vipen Kumar, reminded the administration of the long-pending demand for a dedicated transfer policy for Jammu-based reserved category employees posted in the Kashmir Division.
The Yuva Ambedkar Sangathan (Youth Ambedkar Organization) dedicated an evening to Baba Saheb.
On this occasion, R K Kalsotra, the state president of DOMA (Dalit, OBC, Minority, Adivasi), said, “We, who believe in the Constitution drafted by Baba Saheb, are paying tribute to Baba Saheb today and will continue to struggle to protect Baba Saheb’s Constitution.”
