JAMMU, Dec 30: A grand Nagar Kirtan is being taken out by the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu with the support various other organizations on Jan 3 in connection with the Gurpurab celebrations which will be held on January 5, 2026.
Addressing a press conference here today, DGPC Jammu president Ranjeet Singh Tohra said in connection with the forthcoming Nagar Kirtan on January 3, 2026 and Prakash Puran of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj on January 5, 2026, a meeting was held today at the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) office, Jammu.

The meeting was convened to review and finalize all arrangements and to ensure the smooth, peaceful, and well-coordinated conduct of the religious programme. Detailed discussions were held regarding route management, discipline during the Nagar- Kirtan, participation of the Sangat, coordination with volunteers, traffic regulation, cleanliness, and other logistical aspects so that the holy procession and Gurmat Samagam are conducted in a dignified and devotional atmosphere.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on various important aspects related to the Nagar Kirtan, including the proposed route, discipline and decorum, participation of Sangat, traffic management, sanitation, medical aid, langar arrangements, security coordination, and overall seva management.
It was resolved that Nagar Kirtan will be taken out on January 3, 2026 from Gurdwara Yaadgar Guru Nanak Patsha Bibi Chaand Kour Nagar, Jammu, and will culminate at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Nanak Nagar, Jammu. The Nagar Kirtan will be led by Panj Pyare, followed by Gurbani Kirtan, Katha, and Shabad Vichaar, with participation of a large number of devotees.
A Gurmat Samagam will be organized on January 5, 2026, during which Raagi Bhai Arvinder Singh will perform Gurbani Kirtan and spread the message of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj.
The DGPC chief appealed to the entire Sangat of Jammu to participate in large numbers in the Nagar Kirtan and Gurmat Samagam, to clarify the religious spirit, and to cooperate fully with the organizers and volunteers for maintaining peace, discipline, and sanctity of the programmes.
Tohra disclosed that besides him, the meeting was attended the DGPC office bearers/member, representatives of Gurdwara Management Committees, Sewadars, and prominent Sikh leaders.
