JAMMU, Nov 22: The Principal Accountant General (PAG) Office, Jammu, hosted the grand closing ceremony of Audit Week 2024 at the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Jammu, bringing an end to a week of vibrant celebrations and activities.
The ceremony was graced by Dr Ashok Bhan (former DGP), as the chief guest, along with Dr Zabeer Ahmed (Director IIIM) and Rajesh Kumar (Director ICCR) as guests of honour.
In his address, Dr Ashok Bhan, highlighted the significance of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, calling it the oldest constitutional body in the country. He emphasized its remarkable role in strengthening the democratic framework of India. He also termed the AG office as a vital bridge between stakeholders and the government, commending its transparent and methodological approach to its functions.
The cultural highlight of the ceremony was a mesmerizing performance by the ICCR team Natya Rang, led by Mohammad Yaseen, which captivated the audience. Additionally, performances showcasing the cultural richness of Jammu and Kashmir added vibrancy to the event.
The ceremony marked the culmination of a series of activities organized during Audit Week, which commenced on November 16. The week featured an Audit Run, a blood donation camp, Rangoli and painting competitions, sports events like cricket and volleyball matches, and workshops aimed at raising awareness about audit and accounting procedures.
The Audit Week aimed to enhance public understanding of audit and accounts, emphasizing their crucial role in fostering transparency and accountability in governance. The grand closing ceremony was a befitting finale, showcasing the PAG Office’s dedication to its mission and its commitment to engaging with the community.
