Grameen Bank organizes awareness programme on Financial Inclusion

JAMMU, Aug 31: J&K Grameen Bank,  under the chairmanship of  R K Chhibber,  in collaboration with NABARD,  organized an awareness programme on the Pradhan Mantri’s Social Security Schemes in village Manyal Brahmana,  Panchayat Rajpura,  under the branch office Batera.
R S Billawaria, Area Manager Jammu, who was chief guest on the occasion, emphasized on Agricultural, Education and Housing loans.  Director RSETI, Tilak Raj, appreciated the tremendous efforts of the bank towards customer awareness.
Speaking on the occasion, Vipan Gupta, Manager MF&FI Deptt. J&K Grameen Bank, informed the participants at length regarding the benefits of social security schemes named (PMJJBY) Pradhan Mantri Jeevan JyotiBimaYojana, (PMSBY) Pradhan Mantri Suraksha BimaYojana and (APY) Atal Pension Yojana. He further informed the gathering that these schemes have been designed to provide security cover to the poor population particularly those working in the unorganized sectors. He advised the people to avail this benefit through nearest Grameen Bank Branch. He made people aware of new Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme) in which the premium rates to be paid by the farmers have been brought down substantially so as to enable more farmers avail insurance cover against crop loss on account of natural calamities and thrust is also given on activation of RuPay card.
The agricultural & dairy loans of more than Rs 20 lakh were disbursed during the events. The gathering has actively participated in the programme.
FLC Coordinator,   Mohinder Kumar, appreciated the efforts of the bank towards financial inclusion. Representatives of various Line Departments also attended the programme.
Besides huge gathering, Panchs, Sarpanchs of the area also attended the said camp.
Branch Head Batera, Kuldeep Bhatt, presented the vote of thanks.
Similar programme was also conducted at village Muthi.
