JAMMU, Nov 9: A deputation of J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) led by its President, Harvrinder Singh met B.B Vyas, Advisor to Governor and raised issues of PDD graduate engineers.
The deputation informed the Advisor that though engineers in all the wings of PDD are working on the posts of Development Commissioner Power, Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers but are superannuating in the grade of either Junior Engineer or Assistant Engineer or Assistant Executive Engineer as their services are not regularized.
The deputation members demanded that regularization of engineers to the post where they are putting in their services shall be done on priority so that their pension benefits are not affected.
The Advisor was also apprised about the issue of promotions at the level of Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) and Assistant Engineer (AE).
“Total vacancy at AEE and AE level, as on date, is about 110 and 140 respectively which is creating a lot of manpower shortage,” deputation members said.
The deputation also said that the SRO for assured career progression announced in State Budget 2018-19 is still languishing with the administrative department.
Issue of Grade Pay 4260, recommended and accepted by pay anomaly committee and approved by cabinet 7 years back for Junior Engineers but not given, was also raised by the deputation.
The Advisor assured that the demands of engineers will be addressed at an earliest.
