RAJOURI, July 20: People from far flung Budhal area of Rajouri have urged State Government to monitor the work by GREF on Rajouri Budhal road and said that bad condition of road was the only reason of several accidents there claiming lives.
Addressing a joint press conference, Budhal United Front president Zaid Sagar, vice president Shah Nawaz Khaki and Revolutionary Pahari Movement president Nadeem Mir accused GREF of executing poor work and slow speed in widening and repair of road stretch between Budhal and Rajouri.
“Since years, GREF is executing this work but so far not even a single portion of road has been completed and its condition is worst at all the places with big pitholes on the main stretch and dumps of material lying on the side,” they alleged and added that fatal accidents were taking place on this road because of bad condition of the road.
They also urged State Government in general and Minister for CAPD Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, who is also the local MLA, in particular to give concern to the matter and to keep a check on the work of road widening to ensure timely completion of it.
Among others, Shahzad Ahmed, Wajahid Pajnarvi, Fazal Rehman Bhat and Nasib Mohammad were present in the press conference.
