Srinagar, Feb 5: Without making the findings of the investigation public, the “miracle cure” clinic in Dhara Harwan, which was previously sealed by authorities for practicing “unproven medical treatments,” has been reopened.
The clinic, allegedly known for curing liver disease, came under scrutiny after doctors from GMC Srinagar raised concerns about the treatments provided there.
While no official statement has been issued regarding the reopening, the clinic’s operators confirmed that it is now functional.
To determine the findings of the inquiry initiated after the clinic’s closure, ‘Excelsior’ reached out to the relevant district health officials.
However, they stated that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Medical Block Hazratbal, which operates under GMC Srinagar, noting that it was the block that initially took action.
When officials from the medical block Hazratbal were contacted regarding the clinic’s reopening and the inquiry’s findings, they claimed to have no knowledge of the matter.
They also shifted responsibility to the concerned Tehsildar, asserting that it falls under their jurisdiction.
The district health authorities also declined to comment, particularly on the outcome of the inquiry conducted to verify the authenticity of the medicines prescribed to patients.
However, MLA Hazratbal Salman Sagar claimed that the investigative agency found the allegations against the clinic to be baseless.
Notably, doctors from GMC Srinagar had earlier alleged that patients receiving “treatment” at the clinic often ended up in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) with worsened conditions.
