Govt to issue postage stamp on name of Wazir Mohammed Hakla

POONCH, Sept 11: The Government of India has approved the issuance of the postage stamp on the name of Choudhary Wazir Mohammed Hakla a prominent Gujjar leader of J&K from district Poonch.
The proposal in this regard has been approved by the Philatelic Advisory Committee, Government of India, Ministry of Communications, Department of Posts (Philately Division), New Delhi recently.
The Committee has decided to release the Commemorative Postage Stamp on Choudhary Wazir Mohammed Hakla of district -Poonch, J&K in the year 2023.
Sunil Sharma, Deputy Director General (Philately), Philately Division, Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India has informed Shamsher Hakla Poonchi son of Wazir Mohammed Hakla in this regard.
Earlier Darungali Nallah to Bandichechian road in Poonch was named on the name of late Hakla for his varied services to the people of J&K and Gujjar community in 1992. Similarly, Government High School at Village- Bandichechian district-Poonch, was also named on him. Besides, the Government of Jammu &Kashmir had established “Choudhary Wazir Mohammed Hakla Conference Hall and Library” after his name in Poonch city in 1992.
Late Choudhary Wazir Mohammed Hakla besides a political leader and social activist was a writer a social reformer and patriot by core who worked throughout his life for the betterment and upliftment of the backward and downtrodden people of the society
