Govt to harness entrepreneurial potential of youth: Chander Prakash

Jammu, Apr 5: Terming unemployment as the biggest challenge, Minister for Industries and Commerce today emphasized the need for optimally harnessing the technical and entrepreneurial potential of youth by nurturing their energies in right direction.
“The purpose is to enable youth, through skill development initiatives, face the current job market needs with much more vigor and confidence rather than hankering after white collar jobs “, the Minister asserted.
The Minister, while addressing a series of public gatherings in kandi areas of Makodi Ali Meen, Meen Charkha, Badori, Rai Sachani and adjoining parts, said that Coalition Government wants all areas of the State to have equal opportunities of progress and development, adding that this calls for greater attention towards the inaccessible and remote areas.
“Development is a common issue which must not suffer merely for petty self-interests rather energetic collective efforts are needed to move forward on the path of prosperity “, he maintained.
Reacting to various issues raised by locals in these villages like water scarcity, inadequate power infrastructure and supply, dilapidated roads, lack of lanes and drains, the Minister issued strict instructions to officers accompanying him to formulate projects in this regard within day’s time. He said that no doubt there are lot of facilities created in so many places here but due to mismanagement on part of previous regime these could not serve the purpose and failed to satiate people’s aspirations.
He directed the officers to formulate projects for construction of lanes and drains, improvement of PDD and PHE edifice, widening and repair of roads, redevelopment of playground at HS Badori etc and submit to the concerned within week’s time.
The Minister informed that soon a Centrally sponsored scheme Deen Dayal Jyoti Yojana would be implemented in the state for electrification of all villages which still lack this basic amenity.
Later, the Minister inspected various public utilities and issued on spot directions to officers for taking up necessary action to improve the same. He asked PDD to raise protection wall at the culvert at Meen Charaka enroute Badori
