JAMMU, Mar 9: Minister of State for Information, Culture and Education, Priya Sethi assumed the charge of her office today.
Director Information, Mukhtar-ul-Aziz, Joint Director, Smita Sethi, other officers and people from different walks of life were present on the occasion.
While interacting with scores of deputations after assuming the charge, the Minister maintained that the Government would ensure holistic development of the State. She said that the present Government has identified education as one of the thrust sectors and would ensure that the benefits of the schemes undertaken in the sector would reach the targeted segment.
Laying stress on the importance of dissemination of information and bringing enlightenment especially among women, she stressed that by bringing awakening among them about their rights the society would be empowered.
She also emphasized on a balanced development across all the three regions of the State and create conducive environment for sustainable development of the State.
The Minister also maintained that due importance would also be given to the rich heritage and culture of the State and necessary steps would be taken to ensure its proper preservation and promotion.
