SRINAGAR, June 26: Store of several Government departments at Old Secretariat here was gutted in a blaze this afternoon, a top official said.
The official said that fire erupted from the store, which is used jointly by Departments of Health, PDD and Estates, at around 3 PM and within no time engulfed the whole one-storey structure.
He said several fire tenders rushed to the spot and started dousing flames from spreading further but the store was completely gutted as it was mostly made up of wood.
The official said Government record was gutted in the fire but there was no loss of life. He said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and to probe the whole incident police have started investigations.
