JAMMU, May 30: To generate employment opportunities for the students of Polytechnic sector Department of Computer Engineering & CIIIT, Government Polytechnic College Jammu organized an online guidance and career counseling session in collaboration with Cognizant Information Technology Consulting Company.
Arnab Mitra, Shiraz Ahmed and Amit Sahai, IT professional from Cognizant were the main spokespersons for the session.
During the interactive session, Arnab Mitra, shared his experience and success stories to motivate the participants to choose their profession with confidence, besides preparing to face future challenges. He sensitized the participants about job potential in the IT Sector and benefits being offered by Multinational Companies.
Shiraz Ahmed presented the visuals of various careers. The session proved to be beneficial as it not only guided the students but also increase their knowledge about the various career options. The main purpose of the event was to acquaint the attendees with various career possibilities after Diploma Engineering and most importantly help students realize their innate potential and qualities and make the right choice of stream, so that later they could make the right career choice.
A question- answer session was also held at the end and the students were satisfied with the responses of resource person.
The Principal Ritu Jamwal of Polytechnic College said that a career choice should never be influenced by peers or relatives. With the availability of better quality education, awareness, technology and the ever increasing and varied industry requirements, an individual can now choose the exact career path he wants to pursue based on his personal profile and interests.
