JAMMU, Jan 25: The State Government today accorded sanction for the constitution of a high level committee to study the scope and definition of `Horticulture’ in Government of India and other States of the country so as to bring Horticulture Department at par with the national framework to facilitate correct assessment of growth in the horticulture sector in the State for improved perspective, planning and harnessing vast potential in this sector.
The committee shall be headed by the Chief Secretary as its Chairman while Administrative Secretary, Finance Department and Administrative Secretary, Planning Development & Monitoring Department are the Members and Administrative Secretary, Horticulture Department is the Member Secretary.
