JAMMU, Mar 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the transfers and postings in the Prisons Department.
As per an order, Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, Superintendent Central Jail Srinagar, has been repatriated to his parent department, J&K Police.
Further, three police officers have been deputed to the J&K Prisons Department. They are Ch Iftikhar Ahmed, SP, DYCO 24 IR Battalion, Rayaz Iqbal Tantray, SP, DYCO 6 IR Battalion, and Aejaz Ahmad Malik, SP, DYCO 2 IR Battalion.
Post deputation, Ch Iftikhar Ahmed has been posted as Superintendent Jail, District Jail Poonch, Rayaz Iqbal Tantray as Superintendent Jail, District Jail Anantnag, and Aejaz Ahmad Malik as Superintendent Jail, Special Jail Pulwama.
Meanwhile, Saba Shawl, Superintendent Jail, working as Staff Officer to DGP Prisons, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent Jail, Central Jail, Srinagar, Mushtaq Ahmad Malla, Superintendent Jail, District Jail, Anantnag, has been transferred and posted as Staff Officer to DGP Prisons, J&K, and Sunil Kumar, DySP, deputed vide Government order number 83-Home of 2026 dated February 2, 2026 to the Prisons Department, J&K, has been posted as Superintendent Jail, District Jail, Kishtwar.
