SRINAGAR: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led coalition government had to face an awkward situation in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (LA) today when one of its members stormed into the well of the House, alleging corruption in recruitment of Data Entry Operators in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.
PDP MLA Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Tral, tried to raise a supplementary in the Lower House on a question posed on Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) by Gagan Bhagat. However, when Mr Shah was not allowed to put his point of view on the floor of the House, he stormed into the Well.
Speaker Kavinder Gupta later allowed Mr Shah to speak on the issue, who alleged that corrupt practices were followed to appoint Data Entry Operators in the district. “The government should enquire this corruption in appointments and people involved in the crime should be punished,” Mr Shah added.
Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice Abdul Haq Khan, who was quick to respond, said that the concern is being enquired and action will be taken against the officers involved in the malpractice. (AGENCIES)
