JAMMU, June 3: Dubbing the constitution of Group of Ministers (GoM) by the State Government to check the illegal settlement of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in Jammu as a mere ‘eye wash’,  senior NPP leader Harsh Dev Singh lambasted the `Coalition’ and BJP in particular, for grossly failing to take the cognizance of serious issue which could have alarming consequences.
Talking to media persons here today Singh sought immediate eviction of foreign immigrants from Jammu region and warned the Saffron party that it shall be solely responsible for their illicit settlement if they were not deported to their native countries.
Describing the unlawful influx of  Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in Jammu as a grave threat to the cultural, historical and religious identity of Dogras,  Harsh Dev  said that Rohingyas who were banished and forced to leave Myanmar because of their involvement in the criminal and terror related activities had been mysteriously allowed to  settle in Jammu under a deep rooted conspiracy with BJP-PDP coalition issuing deceptive statements regarding their eviction.
He described the soaring population of Rohingyas as a potential threat to the demography of Jammu region who were living in the colonies encircling Jammu city by clandestinely managing to procure PRCs, Identity Cards, Ration Cards, water and with the assistance of the people sitting at the helm of the affairs.
They  were reportedly provided around 8000 electricity connections in their localities on a negligible tariff which was nearly ‘free’ as per the disclosures made in an RTI reply. Their children were seeking admissions in Govt schools on the basis of fake documents while the local eligible children were divested of their legitimate rights.
“Surprisingly, the notorious clan of immigrants have established Burma Market in Narwal selling groceries, meat products and items of daily consumption,” Harsh Dev divulged.
He said that the criminal silence of the alliance and BJP in particular over the illegal settlement of foreign nationals vindicated the ominous intentions of the dispensation to reduce Dogras to minority.
Terming the GoM formed on the directives of Union Home Ministry for taking the stock of  Rohingyas and Bangladeshis illegally settled in Jammu and its periphery as an eyewash,  Harsh Dev said that any further delay in their deportation process was fraught with serious ramifications. Party leaders Gagan Pratap and Shyam Gorkha also accompanied.
