JAMMU, Oct 8: The small traders at popular hill station of Sanasar have claimed that their earnings have fallen to almost zero after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
“We are not a big business hub here and are solely dependent on tourists,” said Sudesh Kumar, who owns a restaurant and a general store at Bus Stand Sanasar.
He urged the Government to organize some event at the hill station so that the tourists visit the area and their earnings may get a revival.
Kumar also said that presently he even fails to earn the running expenses for his restaurant.
Others owning the small outlets were also worried there.
“If tourists come, we earn as there is no big local market here otherwise while on snowfall, our business further dips,” another small businessman of the area said adding that road leading to Sanasar is also in very bad condition and gets blocked during rains.
“No tourist visited here after April 22, 2025 Pahalgam attack and our outlets remained close for 1.5 months,” a shopkeeper in the area said adding that majority of tourists visiting the area remain Vaishno Devi pilgrims. The badly hit traders and businessmen said that the authorities concerned should organize some fest in the area so that their earnings may restart.
