Govt initiatives transforming State’s developmental landscape: DyCM

JAMMU, Feb 22: – BJP leaders have shown grave concern over the delay in the construction of much talked about artificial Tawi Lake and denial of Sugar to APL category.
According to sources the concern was shown by senior party leaders in the high level meeting convened by Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh at his residence here, today.
The party leaders also expressed concern over the problems created by the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department in distribution of ration especially among the APL categories who have been denied the sugar. They also said that there is much difference in the BPL and APL rates of ration and people in APL category have been denied the ration which has generated the public resentment.
The party leaders also turned attention to traffic congestion in Jammu and stressed on construction of Fly over especially in Talab Tillo and BC road area.
They suggested the ministers to take effective steps in regulating power and water supply so that people don’t suffer on account of the same as Summer is approaching. They, while alarming the ministers on this account urged them that the preemptive measures be started in averting such problems.
The Deputy Chief Minster, Dr Nirmal Singh informed the party men that these issues will be taken care of and the other issues including that of ration etc will be taken up with the concerned departments.
Dr Singh, while referring to the steps being undertaken for development of tourism in Jammu region said that the Prime Minister’s development package envisions for the holistic development of the tourism and the focus is also on ensuring that the Jammu Division comes up as one of the major destinations of the pilgrimage tourism in the country.
He said that the efforts are also on for bringing unexplored areas on the tourism map.
He said that projects like Tawi River Development Front, development of heritage sites including Mubarak Mandi Royal Complex, construction of rope way project across River Tawi uptoMahamaya Temple would go a long way in showcasing Jammu globally.
The meeting among others was attended  Minister for Forests, Ch Lal Singh, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat, Minister for Industries & Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga, Minister of State for Tourism and Education, Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Planning and Finance Ajay Nanda, Vice Chairman, OBC Board, Rashpal Verma, vice chairman SIDCO, Subash Jandial, Legislators, Sat Paul Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, BJ,  general secretary Dr Narinder Singh, vice president Rajni Sethi, Anuradha Charak, secretary Sanjay Baru and other senior leaders of the Party including vice president Jammu West District, Ayodhya Gupta and Jammu district Baldev Singh Baloria.
The Ministers present on the occasion also gave a brief of the work being done by their departments and said that the necessary directions stand passed to the concerned to ensure that the developmental initiatives are completed within the stipulated time lines, so that people do not face any inconvenience.
