BISHNAH, June 5: Former Minister and president Dogra Saddar Sabha Gulchain Singh Charak today said that Govt should fulfill its promise of providing 5 marla plots to the border people to protect themselves from border firing.
Addressing public meeting at Arnia town in Bishnah today DSS leader took serious note of the statement of the Government for not allotting 5 marla plots as per the decision taken by the previous Government for the inhabitants of the border areas who are always under the heavy firing from across the border and demanded that the Central and State Governments should immediately fulfill the promise of allotting plots to them at some safer place.
It was demanded that the BPL lists which have been wrongly prepared be immediately reviewed after proper verification through the Numberdars, Chowkidars and Panchayat members.
Mr Charak demanded that special recruitment drive for the youth of the border area be carried out so as to fulfill their long pending demand of their adjustment in Government jobs. A separate degree college at Arnia both for boys and girls as has already been agreed upon by the State Government should immediately be started.
Showing the serious concern about the dilapidated condition of the roads, lanes etc. DSS leader demanded special measures for the repair and construction of the same. He also demanded proper arrangements for de-silting of canals and distributaries for taking the irrigation water upto the tail end of the area.
The speakers in the meeting criticized the authorities for not providing the ration to the people in whole of the area especially the sugar and other important items be made available to the people.
