Jammu, Nov 26: Government has constituted a committee for reviewing and monitoring the existing and proposed wayside amenities, especially toilet facilities, along major highways/roads across J&K.
Headed by Administrative Secretary, Agriculture Production Department and comprising Administrative Secretaries of the Housing & Urban Development Department, Tourism Department and Public Works (R&B) Department as the members, the committee shall also suggest a self-sustaining model for the physical and functional maintenance of the toilet complexes.
The committee shall suggest uniform distance and size norms vis-à-vis toilet complexes linked to the tentative numbers of daily commuters.
