Govt forms panel to facilitate Ease of Doing Business for MSMEs

JAMMU, May 21: Government of Jammu and Kashmir today constituted a committee to facilitate Ease of Doing Business for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Union Territory.
Headed by the Administrative Secretary, Finance Department, the committee shall suggest measures for improving the Ease of Doing Business for MSMEs operating in the UT. It shall review the scope of existing regulatory compliances as applicable to MSMEs and suggest steps to reduce the compliance burden of MSMEs in J&K.
Further, the committee shall identify the non-regulatory constraints faced by MSMEs in doing business and suggest measures aimed at improving the overall business environment in J&K. It shall also suggest roadmap for inclusion of unregistered business into formal MSMEs.
Administrative Secretary, Industries & Commerce is Member Secretary of the committee while Administrative Secretary Labour & Employment Department; Director IIM Jammu, Director IIT Jammu, Director General Economics and Statistics, J&K; Regional Director RBI, Chief general Manager NABARD, Director General Manager SIDBI, MD J&K Bank are the Members.
