JAMMU, Feb 28: For successful implementation of National Mission on Natural Farming in Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Territory Government today constituted various committees.
These include a UT Level Executive Committee, headed by the Chief Secretary; UT Natural Farming Cell, headed by Administrative Secretary, Agriculture Production Department; District Level Cooperative Development Committees and Block Level Committees.
The UT Level Executive Committee, headed by the Chief Secretary J&K, shall prepare the implementation strategy and approve the Annual Action Plan, prepared by the UT Natural Farming Cell.
The UT Natural Farming Cell, headed by Administrative Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, shall receive fund from the Department of Agriculture and farmers Welfare for implementation, release as per approved Annual Action Plan and to oversee its implementation, regular monitoring and review of programmes.
Besides, it shall organize workshops, seminars, capacity building and training programme for all stakeholders at State/District level. It shall prepare the UT level Annual Action Plan by compiling district- wise Action Plan and submit the same to the UT Level Executive Committee for approval.
The District level Cooperative Development Committee, headed by the Deputy Commissioner concerned, shall conduct regular meetings to review the progress of NMNF and formulate the District Plan as per guidelines of the scheme for designated blocks and Panchayats.
Further, it shall ensure that the Block Implementation Agencies (BIAs) coordinate with the Krishi Sakhis/Community Resource Persons (CRP), gram Panchayats, FPOs, PACs, ATMA, UT designated officers for Gram Panchayats and training institutions.
The Block Level Committees headed by BDO concerned, shall formulate the Block level plan and implement the same as per guidelines.
