JAMMU, Jan 20: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees Action Committee (R) led by its president Babu Hussain Malik today called on Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and submitted a detailed memorandum projecting issues of employees and pensioners.
Accompanied by senior members of Trade Union including Yash Paul Sharma, Sewa Ram Rathore, Bharat Bhushan Kotwal, Kamla Sharma, Ansuiya Gupta, Vijay Kumar, Mohammad Arif, Jagroop Singh, SK Ganjoo, Kartar Chand, Shakti Koul, Sajid Wan, Ashwani Gandotra, Mukhtar Ahmad Babu Hussain discussed burning issues of the employees with the Surinder Kumar Choudhary during the meeting and put forth the demands of employees for redressal.
The Deputy Chief Minister gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that all the genuine demands of employees will be resolved soon. The meeting focused on several critical issues faced by the employees of Jammu and Kashmir.
The main key issues discussed included regularization of daily waagers, casual labourers, contractual, consolidated employees, Home Guards, Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Janglat, Aanganwadi Workers and Helpers, Asha Workers, and NHM; release of GP Fund/leave salary, commutation and other pensioner’s benefits pending at treasuries in ordinate delay in the release of retirement Benefits forfeits the purpose for which it is meant.
They also raised the issues pertaining to release of pending 3% DA in favour of employees and pensioners, enhancement of Medical allowances and HRA in favour of all employees of Jammu& Kashmir at par with the other Union Territories of the country; removal of pay anomalies of Clerical Cadre/Amendment in terms of SRO-333, release of withheld two annual increments during their prohibition period in favour of SRO-202 employees; recovery of commuted loan pay in respect of superannuated employees is restricted to 10 years instead of 15 years in vogue. This process of continuously recovery of 15 years cannot be justified by any stretch and hence needed to be disdained with the hate deserved; recovery of commuted loan before it’s actually payment be stopped immediately; holding of DPC’s of various Cadres in different department of Jammu & Kashmir; restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS); disposal of pending cases of SRO-43 and SRO-120; creation of one separate Department for Clerical Cadre on the pattern of Accounts and Planning Cadre having common seniority and fill up all the vacant posts in the Union Territory of J&K.
