Govt employee caught accepting bribe

SRINAGAR, Feb 18: A Government employee was caught red hand while demanding and accepting bribe for release of bank guarantee documents lying with the National Highways Authority of India.
The accused, identified as Irfan Ahmad, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10 thousands and was arrested following a written complaint, lodged in Police Station Anti-Corruption Bureau Kashmir, by a contractor of M/s Sterlite Technologies Limited alleging therein that the said employee was demanding bribe for release of their bank guarantee documents.
After registration of a Case, FIR No 05/2019, under section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt; 2006, 4-A Amendment Act- 2014, a successful trap was laid by the sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau. The said public servant was caught red handed and arrested. The investigation of the case is going on.
