Govt committed to holistic development of all regions: Bukhari

SRINAGAR, Nov 4: Minister for Roads and Buildings and Floriculture Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today inaugurated 10 meter span steel plate girder bridge over Nallah Tulbren at Kakawrang and 80 meters Twin Bridge at Hafru in Chrar-e-Shrief constituency.
Member Legislative Council, Saifu-ud-Din Bhat, Deputy Commissioner, Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad, Chief Engineer R&B Satesh Razdan, SSP Budgam. Fayaz Ahmad Lone, senior officers of JKPCC, Revenue, Agriculture, PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control, Health, PDD, Floriculture and R &B departments were present on the occasion.
Addressing large public gatherings at Kakawrang and Hafru Batpora, Minister for R&B said that the present Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is committed for holistic development of all the regions. He said the Government is aware about the problems of the people, adding that massive developmental programmes have been initiated in the State with the aim to improve the living standard of the people.
Syed Altaf Bukhari said that up gradation and improvement of good number of roads was taken up and work on these projects is apace. He said good number of roads were macadamized and next year all major road projects of the State will be macadamized.
The Minister on-the-spot directed the R&B authorities to macadamize some roads in Hafru Batpora and Kakawrang areas. He announced that Asthan Park at Hafru Batpora will be developed on modern lines. He directed the Floriculture Department to prepare a comprehensive plan in this regard.
Minister for Agriculture said the construction work on Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) Kakawrang, Sulmatpora and Shandarpora at an estimated cost of Rs 22.10 crore will be started soon. He said it was a long pending demand of the people of these areas. He said on completion of these schemes it will minimize the drinking water scarcity of these areas. He further said that Rs 4.78 crore will be spent on flood protection works over Nallah Apzara.
Castigating National Conference for indulging in vote politics, Mr. Hanjura said the party is frustrated with the initiatives taken by the present PDP-BJP Coalition Government for holistic development of the State. “NC had done nothing during their 36 years tenure and they have also left behind a liability of Rs 9000 crore for us”, the Minister said. He said, “we managed to clear the liability to a large extent and at the same time committed ourselves to provide basic amenities like power, adequate drinking water, education, health and other civic facilities to the people of the State.”
Later, Mr. Hanjura inaugurated New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) Loolipora.
