ANANTNAG, Jan 23: Minister for Tourism, G.A. Mir has said that the Coalition Government is committed to empower Panchayati Raj Institutions and decentralize the powers so that people at grass root level are benefited.
The Minister was addressing a public meeting of Panchs and Sarpanchs at Dooru Shahabad here today.
Mr. Mir impressed upon the Panchs and Sarpanchs to work with honest and serve masses with dedication. He said that Government is serious in providing all possible facilities to the public representatives including insurance cover.
He said that the State’s economy is largely dependent upon the tourism sector and every step is being taken to strengthen tourism infrastructure in all the three region of the State.
The Minister said that the State has been bestowed with natural and scenic beauty, attracting large number of tourists to the State and it is duty of one and all to preserve the environment of the State from degradation and depletion.
