Govt College of Education hosts Anveshika Physics Bharat Yatra Session

CHANDIGARH, Aug 27: Government College of Education, Sector 20-D, Chandigarh, today organised an engaging session on “Role of Visualization and Hands-on Experimental Demonstrations in Effective Learning” under the ongoing Anveshika Physics Bharat Yatra.
The ceremonial e-torch (Mashaal) of the Yatra was handed over to College Dean Dr A K Srivastava, along with faculty members Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Dr Sheojee Singh, Dr Lilu Ram, Dr Vandana Aggarwal, Dr Punam Bansal, Dr Balwinder Kaur and others, as well as students, by Prof Sanjay K Sharma, Secretary IAPT and Prof M S Marwaha, former Principal of SGGS College, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
Welcoming the guests, Dr Srivastava encouraged students to make the most of the interactive learning experience.
Prof Sanjay Sharma explained the purpose of the Bharat Yatra, describing it as a brainchild of Padma Shri Prof H C Verma, launched in May 2025 at Srinagar by him and Lt Governor J&K Manoj Sinha.
He emphasized its mission to spread the joy of learning physics to the unreached across the country under the aegis of the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT).
Through simple video animations, Prof Sharma highlighted the importance of visualization in transforming science education.
Prof Marwaha captivated the audience with live demonstrations of simple science experiments, showcasing how hands-on activities make classrooms more lively, inspiring and effective.
The session saw participation from around 100 students of B.Ed. first semester and PGDGC, who actively engaged and enjoyed the programme.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Sanjeev Kumar, while Dr Sheojee Singh coordinated the programme.
