Jammu, Jul 9: The Finance Department of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a circular urging all appointing authorities and drawing and disbursing officers to ensure timely generation of PRAN (Permanent Retirement Account Number) for new government employees under the National Pension System (NPS) through the eNPS portal using Aadhaar.
The department flagged serious concerns raised by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) and Protean eGov Technologies Ltd. over delays in PRAN generation, which have led to delayed credit of NPS contributions, financial losses due to late investments, and non-compliance with regulatory timelines.
